Pine Trail Camp's History
In 1961, a group of Baptist churches in Illinois began a summer camping ministry at a facility in Saugatuck, Michigan. This facility had been known as Oak Openings, a former summer camp dating back to the early 1930’s.
The ministry, incorporated as PINE TRAIL CAMP, was initiated to meet the camping needs of these churches. It has since been expanded to accommodate the needs of dozens of other churches and groups requesting the use of the camp. Forty acres of rolling and wooded sand dunes contribute to the beauty and serenity of the experience at PINE TRAIL.
